Women's Fund

Overview

The Women’s Fund of Vanderburgh County focuses the efforts of women philanthropists to create positive social change by funding projects that address current needs in our community.

Mission

To improve the quality of life in Vanderburgh County by collectively funding significant grants to support local programs that give opportunities, encouragement, knowledge, and hope to the Vanderburgh County community.

Our Endowment

The Women’s Fund Endowment is a permanent resource created to address the changing needs and priorities in our community. By building the Endowment, women philanthropists of today are building a long-term source of support for future needs. Unless otherwise requested by the donor, each gift to the Women’s Fund is added to our non-permanent fund for immediate grantmaking based on current needs in the Vanderburgh County community.

Founders

Our Founders are women who had a vision to create and sustain a resource devoted to serving nonprofits. We are forever grateful for their diligence, generosity, intelligence and devotion.

Membership

Since our inception in 2007, the initial goal of the Women's Fund of Vanderburgh County was to bring together 100 women as members. The result in our first year was 185 women who participated and support the Women's Fund in some way. Today, we have far surpassed our initial membership goals, and our membership continues to grow.

Full Membership
Women who contribute $1,000 (or more) are Full Members, and will have the opportunity to cast their own single vote for the final grant recipients at the Annual Meeting.

Group Membership
Women who join with other women to pool their resources may participate in a Group Membership. Groups may consist of up to 10 members for a total contribution of $1,000 (i.e. 2/$500; 4/$250; 5/$200; 8/$125; 10/$100). Together, the group will have one vote for the final grant recipients. The group must identify a Group Leader who will be responsible for ensuring the individual membership dues are submitted for the group, and for casting the group’s vote at the Annual Meeting.
